Jon’s BioName: Jon Miklas Email: jmiklas@cocalicocommunitychapel.com What is your role at CCCI am the pastoral team leader. In other words – I lead the team of pastors at CCC. What do you do at CCC? I preach weekly in our Sunday worship services, oversee our small group leaders, disciple men who are new in their faith, lead a leadership development small group, oversee our leadership team and deacons, oversee the outreach, woman’s and operations ministry at CCC. How and when did you come to CCC? My wife and I started the church in March 1992. What is your educational and ministry background? Education: -BS in Bible, Baptist Bible College (Clarks Summit, PA) -M Div., Baptist Bible Seminary (Clarks Summit, PA) Ministry: -Pastoral Intern, High Point Baptist Church (Geigertown PA) Tell me about your spiritual journey-how did you become a follower of Christ? When I was approx 4 and half years old, my dad shared the gospel with me. I knew at that time, I did not want to go to hell when I died but I wanted to spend eternity in heaven with Jesus. I prayed and asked Jesus to be my Lord and my Savior. I remember the joy of wanting to share this news with my grandparents and calling them shortly after we prayed. A high school teacher named Dave Moon was influential in modeling and giving me direction about living the life of a Christ follower every day and in each aspect of my life. What is your favorite section of the Bible? I greatly enjoy the Old Testament and seeing how God used ordinary men to do incredible things for Him. I also enjoy the Psalms as it continually helps me to grow in my sense of awe of God. What kind of music do you listen to? I enjoy any praise and worship music, Christian contemporary music and light jazz. What is your favorite thing to do, besides serving at CCC? I love to play various sports – basketball, golf, jogging are my present interests. I am also an avid reader. I enjoy various fiction, self help and leadership books. Tell us about your family? Christine and I have been married fourteen years Alicia is in middle school and enjoys playing the flute, is an avid reader, likes to help her mom baking and serving at CCC in our children’s ministry. Daniel is an active preschooler who loves to be outside, enjoys all sports and has never met a stranger in his life. What is your dream for CCC? I dream of CCC being a place in which people’s lives are continually being changed by the power of God’s Word through His Spirit and through the community of believers. I dream of many people coming to Christ as they are impacted by the powerful life and verbal witness of people at CCC.
